When the Rain Comes Down, the Adventures Begin! 🌧️
Every parent knows the feeling — you look out the window, see the rain hammering down, and hear the dreaded words: "I'm bored." But rainy days don't have to be stressful! With a little preparation, they can become some of your child's favourite memories.
Here are 10 rainy day ideas for toddlers that actually work — tried, tested and toddler-approved.
1. 🎨 Colouring Adventures
Colouring is a classic for good reason — it builds focus, creativity and fine motor skills. The trick is making it exciting with characters your toddler loves. Print out a Quacky & Rex™ colouring adventure and watch them get completely absorbed.

2. 🧩 Puzzles and Challenges
Age-appropriate puzzles are brilliant for rainy days. Start simple and build up — the sense of achievement when they finish is priceless.
3. 📚 Bedtime Stories (At Any Time!)
Who says stories are just for bedtime? Snuggle up on the sofa and read together. Quacky & Rex™ bedtime stories are perfect for a cosy afternoon read-aloud.
4. ✂️ Simple Crafts
You don't need fancy supplies. Paper, glue, old magazines and crayons are enough to keep a toddler busy for hours. Make crowns, animals, or a Quacky & Rex™ scene!
5. 🍳 Baking Together
Simple recipes like biscuits or fairy cakes are perfect for toddlers. They love mixing, pouring and — of course — eating the results!
6. 💃 Dance Party
Clear some space, put on their favourite songs and have a proper dance party. Toddlers have endless energy — this is a great way to burn some of it!
7. 🌎 World Explorer Adventure
Use a globe or map and "visit" a new country together. Look up animals, food and landmarks from that place. Quacky & Rex™ World Explorer adventures make this even more magical.
8. 🥇 Indoor Obstacle Course
Use cushions, pillows and furniture to create a simple obstacle course. Crawl under the table, jump over cushions, balance along a line of tape — toddlers absolutely love it.
9. 🎤 Puppet Show
Make simple sock puppets and put on a show. Let your toddler be the director — you might be surprised by the stories they come up with!
10. 📱 Digital Colouring on a Tablet
When you need a screen option that's still creative, digital colouring is perfect. Quacky & Rex™ adventures work beautifully on iPad and tablet — no mess, endless fun.
