Are We There Yet? Not for a While — But That's OK! 🚗
Long journeys with young children can feel daunting — but with the right preparation, they can actually be enjoyable. The secret is having a variety of activities ready before you set off.
Here's exactly how to keep kids entertained on long journeys, whether you're in the car, on a train or on a plane.
Before You Leave: Preparation is Everything
🖨️ Print activity packs the night before — download and print Quacky & Rex™ adventures so you have them ready without needing WiFi. A colouring pack, a puzzle sheet and a maze will keep a toddler busy for hours.

🎨 Pack a colouring kit — a small pencil case with colouring pencils and a clipboard makes colouring easy in the car or on a plane tray table.
In the Car
🧩 Puzzle challenges — verbal puzzles and riddles work brilliantly in the car. "I spy", animal sounds, and counting games need no equipment at all.
📚 Audiobooks and stories — download a Quacky & Rex™ story to listen to together. It's screen-free and keeps everyone engaged.
🌎 Journey bingo — make a simple bingo card of things to spot on the journey. Cows, red cars, bridges, tractors — children love ticking things off.
On a Plane or Train
📱 Digital colouring on a tablet — Quacky & Rex™ adventures work beautifully on iPad and tablet. No mess, no lost pencils, and children can colour the same pages again and again.
✂️ Simple craft activities — origami, paper folding and simple drawing challenges need minimal space and keep little hands busy.
The Golden Rule: Variety
Rotate activities every 20-30 minutes to keep things fresh. A colouring page, then a puzzle, then a story, then a game — variety is the key to a happy journey.
✨ Never Be Caught Short Again
